Readers,

Shadow is a short, nonlinear platformer about learning the forms of your enemies and using them to progress further in the game. You play as a shadow man who has been kicked out of his tower. He must now scour the earth and change your form in order to retake it!

In the game you find scrolls to learn new marking patterns which you can write on your arm to transform yourself. Each creature you meet has a strength, but they also have heavy drawbacks. In the game you will need to choose the right tool for the job on each level, sometimes changing tools while being chased down!

Controls: (They are written out in the game as well, but it may be easier just to read them here)

Important Notes:

When my HTML5 file exported it ran into some major issues concerning various problems. This is my second game jam all time (first with a minimum viable product) and I have only exported to Windows in the past. If I had a multitude more time then I would go about fixing these issues, however here we are. I am hoping everything miraculously works in the web build, but if you would like a better user experience Windows works best.

I had a lot of fun with this game jam and am excited to see what everyone else came up with!

Warmly,
